Linux Special

This HOWTO describes how to make special characters available under StarOffice / Linux. (Inserting via the Insert-> Special Characters dialog is not meant here.)

Special characters refer to special letters, such as the euro currency symbol. These characters should be inserted directly into the text using the keyboard. The euro symbol z. B. is inserted on other PC operating systems using the key combination .

Under Linux, however, difficulties arise again and again, which prevent fast writing, especially in word processing. This HOWTO shows that this does not have to be the case and that Linux is far superior to other operating systems in the flexible handling of the keyboard. For a general understanding of the processes, a little more has to be said.
